Who is BioSkills designed for?
BioSkills programs are designed for a wide range of learners in the life
sciences ecosystem, including:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students (BSc, MSc, BE/BTech in life
sciences and related subjects like Biotechnology, Microbiology,
Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical science, Medicine (MBBS), Clinical
Research, and Allied Healthcare fields. - Graduates and early-career professionals

How is BioSkills different from regular internships or training programs?

Who provides the training programs on BioSkills?
Training programs are offered by established life science companies and
recognized training partners that already operate in the market with their
own products, services, or research capabilities.
These partners deliver training based on real industry workflows, ensuring
learners gain exposure to current technologies and learn hands-on
laboratory practices.
Where are BioSkills training programs conducted?
Training programs may be delivered through:
- Offline (hands-on) training in the training partner’s laboratories
- Online learning modules
- Hybrid programs combining online theory with hands-on lab training.
Most hands-on training programs are conducted directly within the training
partner company’s laboratory facilities.
What types of training programs does BioSkills offer?
BioSkills offers three major types of programs:
- Short-term Courses Short-term, focused learning modules that support academic requirements such as projects, dissertations, and thesis work. These courses help build practical laboratory and technical skills alongside university learning.
- Certification Programs Structured, multi-level certification pathways (Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced) designed to develop in-depth technical expertise across domains such as molecular biology, diagnostics, bioinformatics, preclinical research, laboratory animal science and so on.
- Industry Residencies Hands-on, immersive project-based internships conducted in collaboration with industry partners. These residencies provide real laboratory experience, exposure to industry workflows, and may include opportunities for interviews or placements.
What is the BioSkills certification Framework?
The BioSkills certification Framework is a structured certification model used
to organize learning pathways in different life science streams.
Each certification program consists of multiple courses that gradually build
expertise in a variety of tools, techniques and processes.
Courses are categorized into three levels:
- Foundation: Core concepts and basic but crucial laboratory techniques.
- Intermediate: Applied techniques and practical integration
- Advanced: Specialized industry-level skills Learners may choose to complete individual courses or an entire certification pathway.
Can I take intermediate or advanced courses directly?
Yes, learners can enroll directly in intermediate or advanced courses, subject
to eligibility criteria defined by the respective industry partner.
These requirements may include prior academic knowledge, relevant
technical skills, or foundational experience in the subject area. Each program
has clearly specified prerequisites to ensure participants can effectively
engage with the course content.

Are there assessments for BioSkills programs?
Yes. For both individual courses and full certification programs, training

What is the duration of BioSkills certification programs?
Program duration varies depending on the certification level:
